last chance Help Save Sashalast chance

Sasha was a Last Chance Dog who made it out of the shelter, but unfortunately came down with parvo, a virus from which dogs can recover, but medical care is critical. This sweet 9 month old girl is fighting for her life at Vet Referral Center but her bills are terribly expensive and we are in desperate need of donations to help pay for her continued care. UPDATES

hr

Monday, February 22, 2010 Sasha is much brighter today and seems to finally have a bit of energy. We are excited to report that she finally ate some food on her own today! Her follow up visit with the vet went well, and her bloodwork should be back tomorrow. We are hoping her white blood cell count will begin to return to normal.

Sunday, February 21, 2010 As a result of kind donations received, Sasha was able to remain in the hospital a bit longer, but is now in a foster home recovering. She still needs lots of care, including sub-q fluids and lots of medications, as well as follow-up visits beginning tomorrow. She vomited once today and is still not eating on her own, but we are hopeful she begin soon.

Sasha vomited only once today and her gums are finally nice and pink, rather than an almost white color. She also went outside for the first time since she has been sick and actually wagged her tail! We are hoping she is turning the corner. Still on fluids and lots of medications. If she does not vomit a bit longer, they will try to offer her some food.

Sasha seems a bit better today, which is great news! She vomited once this morning, but diarrhea has slowed down. She actually got up and walked a bit, which is a huge change. The bad news is her bill is $2000.00, and we are indesperate need of donations. Please consider donating. Any amount will help, and it is all tax-deductible.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 Sasha still has diarrhea but hasn't vomited since 10am, so they are hopeful she may start turning around with some continued support. She is still on antibiotics, anti-nausea medications and IV fluids. Blood pressures are more normal today.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010
Sasha is lethargic with vomiting and diarrhea. She is put on IV fluids to keep her hydrated as well as antibiotics and stomach medications. Her blood pressure drops, so her fluids are increased.

Monday, February 15, 2010
As Sunday evening progressed, Sasha became more lethargic. Admitted to Vet Referral Center Emergency at 3:00am, after being diagnosed with parvovirus.

Sunday, February 14, 2010
Sasha is not eating and clearly not feeling well. Vomiting and diarrhea. We are all worried.

Saturday, February 13, 2010 Sasha arrives into foster care and is doing beautifully. Sweet and playful girl who loves everyone she meets.
