About Us

Rescue Animal Placements (RAP) is a 501[c](3) non-profit organization completely run by volunteers. We do not have a shelter, but a network of foster homes. We work to save the lives of as many animals as possible, by rescuing dogs and cats from local shelters and out of state shelters with high-kill rates. We also take some owner surrenders directly into our program.

Many of the shelters we rescue from continue to use gas chambers and other crude and inhumane methods to kill animals. We provide temporary foster care and veterinary treatment, and seek to place each dog or cat into a loving and appropriate permanent home. We work diligently to ensure that each animal is placed according to his or her individual needs.

RAP's adoption process requires an application, home visit, veterinarian reference, a formal adoption agreement, and that all family members meet the pet who is being considered.

Our staff is made up of volunteers. In addition to providing rescue efforts, we do work full-time jobs and have families, so please be patient with us. We will attempt to respond to all emails as quickly as possible.

*** Last Chance Dogs -- Need foster ASAP ***

There are still a few in need, please consider helping to save one of them by fostering, or making a donation to Oreo's Fund

The Last Chance dogs pictured below are not currently with our Rescue, but in a high kill shelter, or in danger of going to one. Our current foster homes are full. If you can foster any of them, or are willing to foster to adopt, we can bring them into our program. Our fosters provide safe haven and lot's of love. RAP covers all medical costs and will find the dog/puppies a home. If you can open your home, even for a short time, to help save a life, please consider it. It is a very rewarding experience and the animals are grateful!

Please complete a foster/adoption application and specify which dog you would like to help.

****Donations ( tax-deductible) to help save the life of any of the dogs listed below can be made to Oreo's Fund****

Handsome Hound

Foster Still Needed

Handsome 1 year old foxhound in dire need. Sweet boy.

Shiloh and Dougie

Dougie and Shiloh

Both are in foster care! Both get along with everyone. If you would like to adopt, please submit an application.

Medical Fund Donations Desperately Needed

We have recently had a number of dogs coming to us in need of much more than routine medical care. This has included 12 Heartworm positive dogs, two needing orthopedic surgery and a puppy with an injury. It has completely depleted our medical fund and left us with a very large vet bill.

Please consider making a donation so that we can continue to help dogs in need. All Donations are tax-deductible.

Fosters Needed for Last Chance Puppies/Dogs

We are in dire need of more foster families. If you can make room in your home for a pup or adult during this time, another life could be saved! The shelters they are in are very full. Please E-mail us at RescueAdoption@aol.com or submit an application.

Featured Pets for Adoption

Chloe is friendly with everyone, and loves to play. Her adoption fee includes spay.

Rudy

Rudy is truly a wonderful dog. He gets along with cats, dogs and everyone he meets. He is housetrained, crate-trained and knows basic commands. Because he is black and a boy, he has had a hard time getting adopted. Large black dogs die more than any others in shelters....

We are a 501(C)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible.

If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider making a tax deductible donation to help.
