About Us

Rescue Animal Placements (RAP) is a 501[c](3) non-profit organization consisting of volunteers working to rescue dogs and cats from local shelters and out of state shelters with high-kill rates. We also take some owner surrenders directly into our program.

Many of the shelters we rescue from continue to use gas chambers and other crude and inhumane methods to kill animals. We provide temporary foster care and veterinary treatment, and seek to place each dog or cat into a loving and appropriate permanent home. We work diligently to ensure that each animal is placed according to his or her individual needs.

RAP's adoption process requires an application, home visit, veterinarian reference, a formal adoption agreement, and that all family members meet the pet who is being considered.

Our staff is made up of volunteers. In addition to providing rescue efforts, we do work full-time jobs so please be patient with us. We will attempt to respond to all emails as quickly as possible.
